Leon Arte "R.T." AndersonAugust 30, 1938 - November 05, 2009

Tybee Island – Leon Arte "R.T." Anderson, 71, a true Tybee character passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Memorial University Medical Center. Born at home on August 30, 1938 to Frederick Leon Anderson and Eloise Arnsdorff Anderson, he was raised in Savannah and Tybee Island. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mr. Anderson worked for many years as a welder and in the construction industry. He was a longshoreman, a member of ILA Local No. 2046. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Patricia Anderson of Tybee Island; two daughters, Donna and Todd Smith of Tybee Island; Melissa and Steven Stettler of Savannah; four grandchildren, Jeremy Stettler, Jimmy Stettler, Kenny Stettler and Bailey Smith; two brothers and their wives, Freddie and Cathy Anderson and Donnie and Nancy Anderson all of Tybee Island and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with The Reverend Thomas Peyton, Celebrant.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy, Jimmy and Kenny Stettler, Fred, Brian and Dee Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Ronnie Tatum, Eddie Crone, Richard Kautzman, Jimmy Lucas, Mikey Jacobs and Wade Brezzy Breazel.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
